General comments about the boat

On the rear fly bridge there is seating for 6-8 for dining and a stainless steel wheel. Steps down each side to wheelhouse cabin.

This offers dining for 6-8, an inside tearing position and access to engine.
Steps down to aft cabin with ensuite shower and loo.

Steps down to saloon which offers sofa bed and galley. walk through to separate loo and shower on left and double cabin on right.

Walkout through bow door to bow front which has seating with storage and access to gas bottles.

Built from tough fibre-reinforced epoxy composite, extremely well insulated and panelled throughout in both solid oak and oak veneer, the boat has a "first class" appointed double berth 'owner's' cabin aft of the wheelhouse with en suite shower and WC.

A second double-berth 'guest' cabin is provided at the opposite end of the boat with separate shower and WC rooms adjacent. The saloon/kitchen is provided with a sofa that converts to a third double bed, if required, and the seating in the wheelhouse - normally arranged as an 'L'-shaped dinette on a raised plinth for maximum visibility through the panoramic windows - can also be arranged to provide sleeping accommodation for two.

This is an ideal boat for two - four people who like to have occasional guests. Although it is able to take eight we would not recommend this for extended cruising.

The superstructure was painted in 2015 an the hull painted and anti fouled in 2017.

The wheelhouse has a large sliding sunroof and a second 'fly bridge' helm position is situated on the aft sun deck. The aft sun deck comfortable seats 6-8 people for meals.

In lieu of conventional marine gearbox, a variable hydraulic pump is installed which drives the main prop together with a bow thruster and a stern thruster.

General Comments by vendor
Bon Viveur II share owning offers the option to be involved in the syndicate by contributing your technical expertise and having a say in where you would like to go each year.

Owners currently have engineering skills, electrical knowledge and generally have considerable boating experience gained elsewhere that can be transferred to BVII.

The boat has done trips from St Jean de Losne to Mulhouse via Strasbourg through Nancy and back to Chalon Sur Saone. She has been through the Burgundy, Nivernais and Briare Canals, down the Rhone and of course the Canal du Midi. You can liaise with those before you and choose to go out and back or in a long 'daisy-chain' line.

We have friends meet us at various rail and air terminals and join us for a few days. The boat I has a great social vibe due to the layout.

She is striking and always attracts attention and we often invite others on board and then have the chance to socialise on their boats.

We love to shop at local markets and cook on board and eat up on deck watching the world go by.

We have owners who love to be on the move and owners who like to think of her as a moving gite and just potter along at a gentle pace.

There is so much living space both issue and on deck that you never get "cabin fever".

We have a sister boat where we also swap knowledge and expertise.

Owners must have a CEVNI and be able to demonstrate previous boating experience. (Know your port from your starboard and other vital stuff!)

Bravely we bought our shares 'sight unseen' and over ten years have made good friends with the other owners and have fallen in love both with Bon Viveur II and the Frenc canals. We love the flexibility to explore new places and the willingness of other owners to swap weeks if you have to do something else when you would normally be aboard.

The syndicate is self managed with a committee and a technical team and everyone is always happy to help answer questions or help you out.
