Simply put: From late June, a booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated in agreed priority order, to allow all shares to make initial choices before, and subsequent mutually agreeable swaps at, the owners’ annual general meeting in the Autumn, where the bookings for the next year are confirmed.
In more detail: Each owner has a priority placing on the chart for that year, and alternates moving one or three places up the chart every year.
After a year in first or second place on the chart, the share moves to the bottom, so that after six years every share has moved through the full chart.
With the exception of “School Holiday Special shares” covered in the next section, at their share's turn each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the ‘high season’ (April to September inclusive), and one week in the remainder of the year.
Then each share, with priority in reverse order to the original chart, (so being at the bottom of the chart also has its advantages), may choose a fourth week (at a small extra fee of £25) from the remaining fourteen weeks, after allowing time for winter maintenance work on the boat - usually 4 weeks in January.
|Priority for school holidays||
There are two “School Holiday Special shares” which annually have priority booking of their first three weeks, from within the school holidays only.
This does still allow many summer or Christmas weeks from which other members can choose as the Sandpiper syndicate agreed to keep the number of these special shares to a maximum of two.
|General comments about the boat|
Starting at the semi-trad stern, there is a fixed bench, housing 2 gas bottles, windlass, mooring pins etc;
continue forward, down the steps in to the cabin, with fixed double
bed which pulls out to a full king size. Pillows and two double, two
single duvets are provided and regularly replaced. The bed has two
large drawers under it, a large shelf & locker cupboards over it.
The cabin also offers a wardrobe and an en-suite WC shower cubicle
with small hand basin, also providing hanging space for wet coats.
The prow of the boat beyond the bow deck houses the large clean water storage tank

|Running costs for 2017||The running costs in 2017 have been kept to £60 monthly per share, generally paid by standing order. This contributes to a "floating fund" but when large expenditure is required by agreement of the share owners, (such as the new engine in 2011), the balance will be sought in equal parts from all share owners.|

General Comments by vendor
This is an ex-Ownerships boat, (based in Great Haywood Marina since early 2016), which elected to self manage ten years ago, has a friendly group of owners based all around the UK (& one from Australia), with people volunteering where they can help with particular aspects of the running of the boat, no matter how small the task, to help keep the boat in good shape and the costs down.
The boat is fully owned by the twelve equal shares held by the share holders and is self managed mainly by email and an AGM in October or November.
Whilst not gold-plating the taps! the group of owners has been keen to keep the boat in good & comfortable order, and recent works carried out include:
-New mattress, with extension for the king size option, installed June 2017, for the fixed double in the cabin to replace original mattress.
-Full repaint carried out Jan/Feb 2016, boat now painted green overall
-New engine, gearbox and stern tube installed August 2011. Engine is a 4
cylinder Yanmar diesel.
-A new calorifier fitted 2013 (supplies domestic hot water utilising engine heat).
-New carpet tiles fitted throughout boat in 2012.
-New solid fuel stove installed November 2014 (boat also has an Alde gas
boiler for central heating and hot water supply).
-New galley worktop and gas hob installed January 2015
-Satisfactory survey and valuation carried out March 2016
