Booking system
A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated in
agreed priority order before the owners’ annual general meeting
(AGM, in October), where the bookings for the next year are confirmed.

Each share has a priority for that year and moves up a couple of places
each year.  After a year at the top of the list, the share then starts at
the bottom and starts its climb back to the top over a period of six years.

Each share owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight)
in the ‘high season’ (April to October inclusive), and one week in the
remainder of the year. This way, thirty-six weeks are firmly booked before
the year begins.

Allowing for time for winter maintenance, the remaining “bonus weeks”
are booked with priority in reverse order to the original booking chart.
So having last choice during the first round of bookings has its compensations.
These extra bookings are confirmed on the first day of the month one month before the booking.

Priority for school holidaysUp to 2 special (School Holiday) shares:-

Special share owners are sent the booking chart before any other owners and can
choose school holiday weeks.

General comments by vendor

The Annual Budget is agreed at the AGM (in October), which is shared evenly between shares, with an additional 12% (currently £15) per month surcharge for special shares. In addition, communal items (e.g. Calor gas, cleaning materials, engine oil, Elsan blue, etc.) are paid for from a central fund.

We have been owners since 2017 and have very much enjoyed our time on Pendeford, as well as making friends with its other owners.
As we will still own another share of Pendeford, we plan to keep on have fun aboard for many years to come.

Pendeford is a well maintained, self-managed, semi-trad narrow boat.

She is currently moored at Aqueduct Marina but will be moving to Dunchurch Pools Marina early in 2025.

The boat is managed privately by its share owners, who share the necessary tasks to provide very enjoyable and economical holidays for all. Pendeford is professionally maintained by the marina’s engineers, both annually for the main 'winter service' and at regular nominated services (approximately every six weeks) during the cruising season.

The most recent major work on the boat was fitting a new Beta Marine 43 with a PRM 120 Gearbox, as well as a Webasto diesel fired heating system, in September 2023.

In the event of breakdowns, we also have River & Canal Rescue (RCR) Gold membership.

In addition, we organise annual working parties during the winter where we do some DIY jobs and prepare the boat for the next cruising season.

We are a friendly group, with a wide range of practical skills, as well as plenty of boating experience and tales to share. Our united goal is to ensure that the Pendeford crew have very enjoyable holidays on a reliable, well-maintained boat.
