Booking system | A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated in the middle of the previous year. Each owner has a priority for that year, and moves up a couple of places each year: after a year at the top of the list, the owner then starts at the bottom, and after six years the cycle begins again. Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the ‘high season’ (April to October), and one week in the remainder of the year. By this route, thirty-six weeks are firmly booked before the year begins. Allowing for time for winter maintenance, the remaining fourteen weeks are booked with priority in reverse order to the original chart, so having last choice originally does have its compensations. These extra bookings are confirmed two months before the spare week starts. If an owner is unable to use their week(s) it is offered to all owners via our WhatsApp group with priority given to those already on the boat or due on the following week. |
Priority for school holidays | A maximum of three owners may have "School Holiday" priority where they choose their weeks ahead of the others but MUST align their weeks to school holidays. |
General Comments About the Boat
Apperley was the first of the 'New Generation' boats commissioned by OwnerShips, and as a result is of a very high specification.
A Reeves-built 10/6/4mm steel construction vessel, fitted-out by Milburn Boats, with a new Betamarine diesel engine (fitted 2023) and hydraulic bow thrusters.
She has a semi-traditional stern and a mid galley layout.
Diesel central heating to radiators and a solid fuel stove.
Water heating by diesel boiler and by engine (calorifier)
Two pump-out fresh water WCs. 12-volt lighting (LED bulbs throughout) and 240-volt AC supplied by inverter or hook up.
Fully lined curtains to all windows and blinds in kitchen and bathroom.
Carpet tiles to all areas and vinyl flooring to kitchen and bathroom.
Light maple T&G timber and veneered panels.
Apperley is very light and airy with good use of recessed and spot lighting.
Starting from the stern and working forward:
Semi-traditional Helmsmans deck with seating area (storage lockers under – 2 gas bottles, mooring pins, windlasses etc) and engine under deck.
Inside steps to master bedroom (double bed extendable to king size) with en-suite cloakroom, storage under and full-height wardrobe.
Corridor with bathroom off - corner bath with shower over, glass shower screen, full width mirror over bath, basin with cupboard under and wall mirrors over, WC, built-in cupboard, extractor fan.
Spacious galley has sink/drainer, filtered drinking water tap, gas hob, eye level oven & grill, microwave, larder fridge with small but effective freezer compartment under the worksurface, extractor fan, large storage cupboards.
A good range of crockery and cooking utensils are provided, plenty for a crew of six.
Large side hatch off galley, with removable perspex screen.
Pull-out guest wardrobe, raised L-shaped leatherette dinette which easily seats six with the additional stools, and converts to a comfortable double bed.
Pull-out storage under the dinette, plus two sizes of table which can be stored securely against the side.

General comments by vendor
Over the 14 years that we have owned our share, Apperley’s owners have continued to upgrade and refurbish her, using funds raised by a slightly higher than average monthly payment. In 2023, and without a further cash-call on the owners, we were able to pay for a new Beta Marine engine and a new diesel fired heating system. Over the last two years, we have bought a new more comfortable sofa bed; a new fridge and new curtains and are about to replace the microwave (November 2024). The incoming owner will benefit from this policy and our healthy bank balance. In keeping with this policy, at the 2024 AGM all owners unanimously agreed to a small rise in monthly contributions commencing 1st January 2025.
