Booking system | A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated in agreed priority order from July each year. Each owner has a priority for that year, and moves up a couple of places each year: after a year at the top of the list the owner then starts at the bottom, and after six years the cycle begins again. Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the ‘high season’ (April to September inclusive), and one week in the remainder of the year for each 1/12 share they own. By this route, thirty-six weeks are firmly booked before the year begins. Allowing for time for winter maintenance, the remaining fourteen weeks are booked with priority in reverse order to the original chart, so having last choice originally does have its compensations. These extra bookings are confirmed on the first day of the month before the month of the booking. |
Priority for school holidays | Two shares are designated as “special” and have first pick out of school and university holidays. These owners pay a premium of 25% on all the running costs over and above the other owners for having this "special" option. If a share is for sale it will state if this does or does not come with the school holiday option. |
General Comments About the Boat
The Semi-Trad stern allows space for at least two people to accompany the steerer (without needing to perch on the gunwales and hold on tight. There is raised level seating on the port side which also serves as storage for the gas bottles and gear storage, windlasses, etc. For those who need to sit at the helm, there is room for a folding ‘bar’ type stool.
The engine is below the rear deck, along with a horizontal calorifier situated on the port swim and battery banks on the starboard swim. There are four domestic batteries (recently replaced) and one starter battery.
You enter the galley through the hatch/doorway on the starboard side and down the steps. Immediately on the left is an L-shaped worktop with a Vanette four ring hob. Along the worktop there is an inset stainless steel sink unit with cupboards and a fridge below the drainer. A recently fitted (2019) brushed steel Thetford oven and grill is located in a full height wall unit with drawer storage below and microwave above.
Opposite the sink unit is a fold-down worktop, which provides more workspace when required. The kitchen is well equipped with a full range of saucepans, utensils, cutlery and crockery.
Moving forwards there are opening side doors and hatch in the port side. The side hatch doors are glazed, which allows more light into the main cabin.
The dinette table and bench seating can accommodate four people and also converts to a ‘make-up’ double bed. Additional seating is provided by two stools. There is locker space under the seating and an open shelf above with reading lights underneath. There is a solid fuel Squirrel stove which heats the dining/seating area
Through a door, the corridor towards the bow is on the port side, passing the bathroom. This has a washbasin, toilet and corner bath with shower over. There is a radiator, small airing cupboard, extractor fan and shaver socket.
Continuing along the corridor through another door, there is the main cabin with a full-length wardrobe, under-bed storage, high level cupboards and a radiator. The Alde central heating boiler is also in this area. The fixed double bed can extend to king size utilising an extra cushion.
Through another door is the saloon with an ensuite bathroom comprising a toilet and washbasin immediately to starboard plus a full-length wardrobe, this area has two bench seats/single bunks which can also be combined to form a full width super king-size bed. There is also a floor cupboard and locker space under the bench seats
At the front of the boat there is glazed door which has two doors which can be completely folded out when the weather permits. The well deck has storage lockers on each side which double as seats. There is a cratch and cover enclosing the well deck, which, unusually, has full headroom in the centre.
One of the advantages of this layout is that at night time each cabin has access to a toilet without disturbing occupants of other cabins, particularly helpful if there are 6 people on board
